The STARS program is designed to assist individuals who have been affected, in some way, by substance abuse.
Some of the services offered include:
SASSI - Screening/Assessment
Individual Service Plans (ISPs)
Anger Management Classes
Relapse Prevention
Weekly/Monthly Care Coordination
Pre-Employment, Random, and Return to Duty Drug Testing
Mentoring
STARS also assists employers in finding the best drug-free employee for the job. The STARS program utilizes the SASSI (Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory) to identify individuals with possible substance abuse and dependency problems. This tool has been utilized since 1988 in a variety of settings including criminal justice, employee assistance, educational institutions, mental health facilities, medical practices and vocational situations.
• Screening results are available within 24 hours
Southeast Texas Access to Recovery Services
• Evaluation of results and recommendations for referrals to education or substance abuse treatment by credentialed personnel
The STARS program is a program designed to assist potential employees with the recovery skills necessary to become a valued team member. For a person to become part of the expanding workforce in Southeast Texas, it is imperative that the employee be Drug Free. STARS offers:
• Appropriate referrals to local treatment facilities
• Adult Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Education Classes tailored to individual needs
• Youth Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs/Life Skills Classes
• Counseling by credentialed personnel
• Recovery Coaching and Support
STARS seeks to identify the unemployable worker and provide assistance in obtaining and maintaining employment without the use of drugs and alcohol. STARS provides individual counseling, Drug and Alcohol education, Life Skills and Relapse Prevention classes tailored to ones individual needs with the overall goal of developing a chemical free, productive employee.

STARS Mission
The STARS program is designed to assist individuals who have been affected in some way by substance abuse.
Mission: In keeping with the philosophy of solving ‘regional’ problems, SETRPC has remained committed to the citizens of Southeast Texas by coordinating a variety of programs relating to alcoholism and other drug addictions since 1972. SETRPC’s Substance Abuse Division continues their efforts to assist Southeast Texas citizens in need of substance abuse services; providing hope, healing, and opportunities for the still-suffering alcoholic or drug addict and their families.
