Regional Alcohol & Drug Abuse Advisory Coalition
An initiative of the Substance Abuse Division of the South East Texas Regional Planning CommissionRADAAC is comprised of members that represent a diverse cross-section of Hardin, Jefferson, and Orange Counties. The collaboration of various community organizations and individuals allows for a more wide-spread reach with vital information regarding substance abuse related problems and concerns.
RADAAC is committed to:
Ongoing evaluation and assessment of community issues that relate to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use and abuse
Utilizing evidence-based environmental strategies to change community perceptions about underage drinking, tobacco use, and drug abuse
Educating the community about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATODs) and the other associated problems facing Southeast Texas
Reducing underage drinking through education and advocacy
Strengthening collaboration between local and state organizations
Creating awareness in the community about prescription drug abuse
Helping Southeast Texans know how they can be actively engaged in reducing substance abuse in their neighborhoods
RADAAC membership is open to all individuals, businesses, agencies, and organizations interested in improving the quality of life in Southeast Texas. RADAAC meets every third Wednesday of the month. The meetings are held at the Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission, 2210 Eastex Freeway Beaumont, Tx.
